Elaine Filter has been called to serve people as a teacher.  The next season of her life takes her to southwest Kenya with an organization called Oasis for Orphans.  There she will work with Kenyan teachers to open schools that hope to rescue and restore vulnerable children.  She hopes to help create space for an emerging African Pedagogy and to encourage the development of communities.

Elaine is originally from central Arkansas.  This is where her parents and older brother still live.

Elaine likes adventure, yoga, reading, teaching, hiking, philosophy, dancing, singing, performing, and trying new red wines.
